We do. We don't edit history. Unless there was no newspaper produced on that day (more on that below), we include the headline, whatever it is. We think that every headline is an important puzzle piece in history, and to skip over the not-so-nice ones would mean tampering with the story.

Yes, but there are a few small caveats:

• Due to things like strikes and public holidays, sometimes no newspaper was printed on a given day. Papers are also occasionally withdrawn for legal reasons. And sometimes, a newspaper simply wasn't not printed on a specific day! If your chosen date falls on one of these, we'll use front pages from the following days.
• If you're ordering for a birthday before 1975, your newspaper book will feature historical front page headlines printed across double pages.
• If the person you're ordering for is born after 1975, your book will be printed as single pages of historical newspaper headlines, each followed by a blank scrapbook page. Handy for scribbling down stories and memories and attaching old photos!

We can make books for people with birthdays from 1920 onward (and we set the latest 'start year' as 1998 – anyone born later than this would have a very slim book!). Before this date, the quality of the newspapers gets a little patchy, as they’re so old. So unless you're buying for someone like Ethel Caterham (born in 1909 and, as of 2025, the oldest woman in the world), you should be okay. The book will include headlines up to the last month, so if their birthday is February 20th, 1971 and you order a book on March 21st, your book will have a page from every year, including this year.
