DIY Christmas tree decoration (with an elfy twist)
Have a giggle and outbranch the competition with our make-at-home Christmas tree decoration.
Here’s a delightfully simple Christmas craft to make with kids of all ages – a Balloon Santa! All you need is a toilet roll tube, paints and a balloon (of course). They’re so easy to make you can get the whole family involved.
You’ll find the four simple steps below.
Print tutorialGet all your materials together: toilet roll, balloon, paints, and marker.
Fill the balloon with a little water before blowing it up. This means Santa will stay on his chimney (and have a nice wobble when poked).
You can paint Santa anyway you like and he’ll still look good. The knot of the balloon makes a lovely hat bobble. Add a nice brick pattern to the toilet roll tube.
Pop your Santa onto his chimney and have fun! Give him a little poke and he should wobble about.
And that’s it! They’re so easy to make you can get the each member of the family to paint a Balloon Santa. Dare we say it could be a new holiday tradition?
We’re Wonderbly. When we’re not crafting Santa out of balloons, we make beautifully personalised children’s books and gifts. A treat for any Santa-loving child.
