Home / Crafts / Resolution Rabbit – a New Year’s craft idea

Carrot-trained eyes and cute as a button

2017 is looking to be a big year. Help your little ones achieve their big goals with this New Year’s craft, the Resolution Rabbit. Whether it’s riding a bike or writing their name, this little rabbit will keep them on track (grownups might consider one for their own resolutions….) Just write a goal on the carrot and let the rabbit hold it. When the goal is met, give it to the rabbit to eat. Chomp!

Step 1

Step 1

Cut a hole for the mouth in a plastic bottle and remove the base. (Use our photo as a guide.)

Step 2

Step 2

Unlike regular rabbits, a Resolution Rabbit can be any colour you like. Paint the inside a darker colour than the outside.

Step 3

Step 3

Add a face and legs, but leave space for the arms to come later.

Step 4

Step 4

And here they are! Use the template as a guide to cut out ears, teeth, and arms.

Step 5

Step 5

That’s a sharp looking rabbit. Only glue the top half of the arms so they have space to hold the carrots.

Step 6

Step 6

Use the template to trace and cut out your carrots. Help your kids write some goals for the year. Feed them to the rabbit as they’re completed and you’ll have one happy bunny.
